Transforming Healthcare, Together

Video over IP (VoIP / SDVoE)

Video over IP (VoIP / SDVoE) is a digital operating room architecture in which video, data, and control signals are transmitted over an IP network. Optical fiber can be used as the transmission medium, ensuring stable operation under high electromagnetic load (generators, ionizing radiation sources) and allowing the main system components to be placed outside the operating room, for example in a server room. Video sources are connected via encoders, displays via decoders, and the entire system is controlled programmatically. This provides flexibility, scalability, and centralized control of all audio and video streams in the operating room.

How Video over IP differs
from Matrix‑based

Scalability

Adding new:

  • displays,
  • sources,
  • operating rooms

without replacing the system ‘core’.

Routing flexibility

Any source → to any display, in any room, including:

  • training classrooms,
  • conference rooms,
  • remote locations.

Integration with the IT ecosystem

A single network for:

  • video,
  • data,
  • analytics,
  • telemedicine.

Advantages

  • 4K 4:4:4 without loss of quality
  • minimal latency
  • video + USB + control transmission
  • ready for 8K and AI analytics

When Video over IP is the best choice

  • multiple operating rooms,
  • hybrid and digital ORs,
  • training and broadcasting,
  • future development,
  • integration with analytics and AI.

Conclusion

Video over IP is: an architecture of the future that turns the operating room into a digital platform, not just a set of equipment.
